Ovid was and still is a Roman poet who mainly relied on language mastery, narration, and the themes of love, mythology, and human feelings to create his powerful works. He was born in Sulmo, Italy, and wrote for the Roman audience, becoming one of the most popular and thus the one with the highest literary status amongst the Romans. The poet’s name is associated with the works Metamorphoses, Ars Amatoria, and Heroides. His poems, brooding with humor, love, and fantasy, present the reflections on love, desire, change, and the human condition that never cease to be current.
